Cecil Aldin (1870 – 1935) was a well known illustrator of animals and the country side. He had a Dalmatian of his own called \’Loopy\’ who was the subject of at least two of his pictures.

This print, entitled \”What became of the Plum Pudding?\” shows a row of six dogs round a plate, empty of everything except a sprig of holly. All but one of the dogs looks bright eyed and eager, but look accusingly at the Dalmatian. He is sitting with his eyes closed and a very rounded shape. It is obvious where the Plum Pudding now is!

For those in the know, including Cecil Aldin, food stealing is the norm for a Dalmatian if anything is left within reach.

This print was reproduced by kind permission of Anthony Mason Esq. in aid of Dalmatian Welfare. It measures 9.¾ inches X 16 inches and is printed on glossy, photo type paper. It is supplied with a backing card and cellophane wrap for protection.
