Bella (at Wood Green)

Female, 13½ years old

Image of Dog

Bella is a six and a half year old unspayed bitch who had lived with a very busy family until recently when they were no longer able to keep her any more.

Bella has a fused vertebra along the lumber spine area. She is very happy dog and is currently on Metacam to help her with the pain. The care at Staff Wood Green have noticed a massive improvement in her well being (all aspects) with this simple treatment – her confidence with people and dogs has much improved and the staff think the metacam has made alot of difference.  In view of this pronounced improvement they feel she will probably need to be on it for the rest of her life as a gentle pain relief.

She has been in a foster home for a few weeks now and is living with another dog who is of a quiet disposition and she is good and happy around new people. She would suit a home that has older children 10 plus. If one of our ‘approved adopters was interested in her but concerned about the cost of the medication for the rest of her life then please get in touch with Wood Green in the first instance. BDW are always willing to help with rehoming one our breed and if this is an obstacle to someone taking her on we could always help with if necessary for the right home.
